The brahmatal trek India's one of the most popular Himalayan treks. Trek to Brahmatal, a lake where Lord Brahma is said to have meditated as per mythology is one of the few treks which are possible in the months of winter when most of the trekking routes are closed. Lohajung, which is the base camp of the Brahmatal trek is a small town of great mythological importance. One must interact with the locals here and hear the great stories about the town.

The thing that make this trek popular is the trail and the magnificent mountain views, you can see some of the prominent seven thousanders Trishul, Nandaghunti, Chowkhamba, Nilkanth, Kamet, Hathi, and Ghoda peaks, and you trail mostly inside the jungle of conifer, Cedar, Oak and Fir which in itself is a soothing experience in the months of winter.


Which is the best time to do this trek and can we do it solo?

It is a all season trek but in winters this trek becomes more magical as well as challenging, December - February is the best time to do this trek. It is moderate level difficulty trek, so if you don't have any prior experience up to12,000 ft. treks then don't go for solo, because in winters it becomes more challenging. If you're doing this trek in other season then you can do it solo but some prior experience is required. 


How long this trek is and how much it will cost?

It is a 6 day trek from the base camp which is Lohajung in Uttarakhand. Now how much it will cost? So if you've decided to do this trek solo, then your expense will go little higher ranging from12,000 to 15,000 INR.
